Here is a review of the Wi-Fi information app, version 1.6.5:

GENERAL

• Provides detailed information about Wi-Fi connection status.
• Displays public IP address by tapping on the internet/earth icon.

NETS

• Lists all available Wi-Fi networks.
• Supports filtering of network results.
• Displays additional information for Android 11+ and most routers, such as model and vendor (channels, country, streams, extensions in PRO).

CH 2.4/5.0

• Provides charts for available networks by channels grouped for 2.4 or 5.0 GHz.
• Allows switching to a mode with channel width (using center frequency for the channel).
• Offers the option to pause updating.
• Supports scaling by fingers or maximizing by double tap.

POWER

• Displays a chart with power for each network over a specific time interval.

DEVICES

• List all devices connected to your Wi-Fi network.
• Provides a quick scan in the subnet a.b.c.x.
• Performs a deep scan in the subnet a.b.x.x (only available for Android 13 and lower).
• Tries to detect hostname and router model.
• Supports filtering of device results.

* On Android 13+ with target sdk33, the standard method for detecting devices is not available. The app will try to find used IP addresses, and you can increase the timeout by pressing the "..." button.

DEVICES P2P

• Uses Wi-Fi direct to scan nearby Wi-Fi devices, such as TVs and printers.

In the options menu, you can also get the vendor information by MAC address.

HELP

Note: With new Android releases, there are restrictions on working with Wi-Fi. If something doesn't work, please read the help section.

If the network list doesn't show on your device with android 6.0+ or later, please check that location permission is granted. If permission is already granted, make sure that location is turned on. Some devices with 7.0+ also require location to be turned on.

If the network name (unknown SSID) is not shown on your device, then your device needs permission and for the latest Android releases location must be turned on.

If no devices are found in your network, press scan (or deep scan for public network). If you're using Android 13, you can increase the timeout by pressing the "..." button.

* For Android 11+, your device's MAC address is blocked with target sdk30.

PRO VERSION

• Supports a light, dark, and black theme.
• In the free version, black theme is available for a two-week trial period.

Report in menu info center: Provides general information, network information, and device information that can be included in a report. You can save the report as an HTML or PDF file and open or share it via email. In the free version, the report feature is available for a seven-day trial period. It also supports multiple reports, allowing you to choose previous reports to open or share.

You can copy text by long-pressing on menu lists.

Extra information about networks is available for Android 11+ in the "Tab Services" section.

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Required for getting the list of available networks (for Android 10 and above)
• NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES: Required for getting the list of P2P devices (for Android 13 and above)
• READ/WRITE EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required for generating and opening reports in the browser
